His father Konchok Tashi and mother Laisang, saw various auspicious signs during his birth. Since he was a young child, Rabsang Tulku was always very compassionate to all animals, and very devoted to the Dharma, always asking his parents to visit the monasteries. Hence, his parents brought him see great Druwnag Pachung Rinpoche, who told them: This child has a very meritorious and virtuous connection, his wisdom will manifest in the future once he has been ordained. So Rabsang Tulku was ordained at Drikung Thil Monastery under Pachung Rinpoche, and was named Konchok Tsultrim. He studied intensely the various teachings rituals, subsequently visiting HH the 14th Dalai lamaas well as the two Drikung Kyabgon. He has also studied Sutra and Tantra at the Drikung Institute and Thrangu Institue.

1999, during the Snake year Drikung prayer Festival, Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoce recognized Rabsang Tulku as the reincarnation of Druwang Rabsang Rinpoche and named him Konchok Gyurmin Rabsel. He was also enthroned then. Since then Rabsang Tulku Rinpoche received many teachings, transmissions and empowerments from the 2 Drikung Kyabgon, HE Garchen Rinpoche, Thrangu Rinpoche and many other great teachers. Nyungne Retreat

According to Tibetan Buddhism tradition, The Nyung Nye Retreat is a fasting practice of the Thoursand Arms and Thousand Eyes Chenrezig, it is a great way to purify past negative karma as well as accumulate merit.

The Retreat works in pairs of 2 days, during which participants are required to undertake the vows of eight precepts. On the first day of the retreat, you can drink all day, but only eat once in the middle of the day (pure vegetarian). On the 2nd day, no food or drink is allowed. Meal and drink will be provided on the 3rd day early morning, after the completion of the retreat. Practices during the retreat include reciting prayers, chanting mantras & dharani, prostrations, visualization & meditationGanachakra Tsok offering. We will be guided by Lama following the lineage of Lakshminkara (Gelongma Palmo), the lineage founder of Tibetan Buddhism Nyungne practice. It is a complete cultivation of the mind that accumulates immeasurable merit.

Nyungne Lineage Master Lakshminkara (Gelongma Palmo)

The practice of Nyungne can be traced back to Lakshminkara, who is best known as one of the 84 mahasiddhas. She was a princess from Uddiyana who took monastic ordination. However, the residue of her previous negative karma ripened and she was striken terribly with leprosy. As a result of the leprosy she was sent to live in a grass hut outside the citadel. In a dream her father appeared and told her to pray to the eleven-faced Chenrezig. On awakening she felt slightly better, and was able to chant OM MANI PEME HUNG. She improved again and continued her practice for six months when Manjushri appeared in a dream and told her to go to the temple of Shenpal and meditate on Chenrezig there. She did so and by the end of a year she had visions of Tara, Amoghapasha, all the dieties of Kriya tantra, and eventually eleven-faced Chenrezig. Through this practice her leprosy was cured and all 84,000 samadhis associated with all varieties of Dharma arose within her. At that time she attained the 8th Bodhisattva level.

At this time she composed the Praise to Chenrezig that is contained in the Nyungne practice of the Karma Kagyu tradition. She returned to Uddiyana and under the guidance of a mahasiddha she became a yogini and attained the 10th level of a Bodhisattva. Having gained acceptance in Uddiyana, she composed a ritual sadhana of Nyungne.

Benefits

The benefits of this practice are extensive. To give an indication of the benefits of doing just one Nyungne, the Tantra of the eleven-faced Chenrezig states that the practice can overcome the obscurations and wrongdoing accumulated throughout forty thousand eons of continuous samsara. Specifically, the fasting of body (food and drink) purifies the obscurations of body. The fasting of speech (silence) purifies the obscurations of speech. And the fasting of mind (meditation etc.) purifies the obscurations of mind. (According to the book "Extraordinary practice of Nyungne: Its History, Meaning, and Benefits" by Bardor Tulku Rinpoche)
